The Outdoor Hour Challenge #3 was a mammal study: compare the horse and the dog.
Today we completed another challenge. Big Ladybug really loves horses and dogs, so she enjoyed this! We were able to observe some horses on a recent field trip to a local living farm and at our local fair.
We read some books about horses, looking at the different kinds, colors, sizes, and uses for them.
We then observed our dog, Ellie, and discussed the differences and similarities she had to a horse. Big Ladybug had a great time demonstrating how they moved.
She also did much better with the Venn Diagram this time, maybe because I wrote it for her :)
She enjoyed the coloring and drawing pages, too.
I think she and Ellie enjoyed spending some time together as well! However, I’m pretty sure Ellie could have gone without the camera flashing in her eyes…..over and over until we got a descent picture :)
We had a great time doing this challenge together! See what others learned during their Outdoor Hour Challenge here.
Great challenge again this week! I love the details she observed for the Venn Diagram and her journal page made me smile. Great job!
