MFW 1st Grade- Week #3

Well we completed  week #3, surviving all the chaos in our house.  Daddy is healing and we are busy learning!

 Bible:  This weeks memory verse:

Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to the words of knowledge.  ~Proverbs 23:12

Big Ladybug and I discussed how important it is to listen and learn, not only to God, but to her parents and what she is studying in school.

Big Ladybug also finished her alphabet scroll, and Daddy helped her cut the dowel rod so we could put it together.  (Just pretend you see her wearing safety goggles…huh-hum.)

So after gluing the pages together and decorating the dowel rods, she finally finished it!

Science:  Our science this week was studying ‘how plants grow’.    We looked at all the parts of the plant and what each parts role is.

Big ladybug collected flowers from the yard and we put them in a big book to dry.  Once they were dry she had a great time making bookmarks.   She glued flowers and sequins to card stock, and then I laminated them for her.  This kept her busy for hours!

Did you know???  Kudzu vines grow up to 1 ft./day.  It is estimated to cover 7 million acres in the southeast and takes over 120,000 new acres every year.  It’s roots are tuberous and get up to 7 in. in diameter.  Kind of scary, isn't it?
