MFW 1st Grade- Week #14

Big Ladybug really enjoys Bible time, and we are really enjoying the Bible timeline.  Big Ladybug absolutely loves to draw and color so she has really taken to her Bible Notebook activities. 

She read the Bible stories, The Tall Tower, and A Son for Abraham.

This is her tower of Babel.

This is Abraham, Sarah, and baby Isaac, by their tent.

The girls also made some towers out of toothpicks and play-doh, they had a great time with this activity.

                

               

It didn’t take long for us to get off subject and have some fun building other things!

  

Science: This week we read about snow and ice.  We looked at some of the animals that live in it year round. 

Here are some of the books we got from the library this week.

     

                        

Big Ladybug also watched March of the Penguins.  She and Daddy also got so see part of a show on Beluga Whales on the National Geographic Channel.  I don’t know what the name of it was, but his intrigued her so she asked to read more about the Beluga’s.  I have requested some more books on them at the library.

 

For art she made some paper snowflakes with Grandma.

Did you know??

Unlike most other whales, the beluga has a flexible neck that enables it to turn its head in all directions.

It also does not have a dorsal fin, they just have a dorsal ridge that helps them break through ice.
